I found this vintage dresser at Goodwill and immediately saw its potential. My first step was to remove all the hardware, which was in desperate need of replacement or a fresh coat of spray paint. Some of the screws were so damaged that I had to use a special tool to remove them. Once all the hardware was off, I sanded everything down - not to strip the paint, but to smooth out any rough spots where the wood and paint had become uneven. I painted it a soft vanilla white, covering up the previous color.
After wiping everything down, I began applying the wallpaper I had ordered online. The trickiest part was ensuring there were no bubbles as I carefully placed and cut the wallpaper to fit the front doors' indents perfectly. I mixed my paints to match the purple in the wallpaper, highlighting the design's raised areas. I replaced the handles, installed new magnets, reattached the spray-painted hinges, and voila - my project was complete!
